Cleaning & Restoration
The most requested — and most misunderstood — treatment. Cleaning is never aggressive. Every solvent and method is tested first, and the work tells us when to stop.
Our approach
Grime, soot, and oxidised varnish accumulate slowly until a once-luminous work reads as muddy and dark. Removing these layers can be transformative — but only with restraint and rigorous testing.
Surface dirt, varnish, and original media are carefully distinguished, and cleaning never passes beyond the varnish layer. A stable, removable varnish saturates the colours and protects the surface for the future.
